Student must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1,
2009.
Philosophy:
Our preschool philosophy is to teach and learn through play.
This gives children the opportunity to comfortably thrive and grow
at a developmentally appropriate level. In this program students
develop social skills, work on self-esteem, responsibility, and
explore and discover new concepts . We believe in giving children
the time they need to function as independently and creatively as
possible. Students are encouraged to experiment and try new things
on their own. The teacher will guide the students by introducing
new subjects and ideas to experience and learn.
Curriculum:
The class curriculum revolves around themes. Each theme is taught
for one to two weeks. Students learn Language Arts, Social Studies,
Science, Math, Art, Drama, and Music. Each month we learn new
letters and develop phonemic awareness. The curriculum will be
taught through teacher-guided activities and hands-on Learning
Centers. Students work in small groups at each center. This
enhances social skills, language development, and creates a working
classroom community.
