Janet E. Koss Excellence in Education Award

The River Grove School Board of Education has established the Janet E. Koss Excellence in Education Award in memory of Mrs. Janet Koss. Mrs. Koss was a teacher at River Grove School from 1983 until her untimely passing in May 2008. As a teacher at River Grove School, Mrs. Koss was devoted to her students and making River Grove School the best that it could possibly be. Her passing last year left a hole in the hearts of those who loved her, worked with her, and benefited from her wonderful gift of teaching. It is only fitting that this annual award be established and awarded in honor of Mrs. Koss’s memory.
Our 2009 Janet E. Koss Excellence in Education Award recipient is Mrs. Linda Hodges. Mrs. Hodges, a longtime Science teacher at River Grove School, works tirelessly in helping our students achieve their best. Mrs. Hodges is a dedicated professional who combines compassion for children with passion for teaching on a daily basis. Congratulations to Mrs. Linda Hodges.
