Dear River Grove Staff, Parents, and Community Members,
It is an honor to be selected to serve as the next Superintendent of River Grove District 85.5. I am impressed with the community pride and positive atmosphere that I have already witnessed. I can’t wait to get started July 1st! As a way for everyone to get to know a little bit about me, I would like to share some background information about myself with everyone. First, the personal side of my life. My wonderful wife Kristin, and I reside in Frankfort. She is the future principal of Oak Lawn/Hometown Middle School. We have five amazing children (Jared, Noah, Abbey, Isaac, and Meagan) that fill our lives and our home with joy…and some chaos when they are all home at one time – which is rare! Professionally speaking, I taught 7th Math and 6th Gifted in Arizona and Quincy, Illinois for 2 years each. I began my administrative career as the K-8 Assistant Principal in the Forrestville Valley School District. After 2 years in that role, I served as an Elementary Principal for 6 years. The next stop on my journey was a 4 year Principalship at a primary building in Frankfort District 157c. My last stop before coming to River Grove was an 8 year stay in Plainfield District 202 as Principal at River View Elementary. I feel fortunate to have worked in a wide variety of schools and communities during my career and hope to share what I have learned with my new team at River Grove.
I have begun the transition to River Grove, meeting regularly with Mr. Grieshaber and the Board since March. Mr. Grieshaber has been a fantastic mentor and is working hard to make the transition seamless. I look forward to meeting everyone and my official start in July!
