RGS Scholastic Bowl Team
We're #1!
Congratulations to our Jr. Varsity and Varsity Scholastic Bowl Teams! We had a great year, learning about many new things and interacting with other schools. Our students worked very hard and dedicated many hours to practice sessions.
The final conference tournament was on April 8th at East Leyden. Jr. Varsity did an outstanding job, ending in a 3 win, 1 lose record for the initial rounds of the tournament. Participating for the Jr. Varsity Team was Autumn Hankins, Med Jimenez, Silvana Naka, Kerri Predovich, and Arielle Strauss. Med Jimenez received a trophy for the highest individual score for our Jr. Varsity Team. Special recognition also goes out to Med, as he had the highest individual score from ALL students who participated in the tournament. This is the SECOND consecutive year that a River Grove Student has earned such a high honor!
Our Varsity Team, including Samantha Airdo, Youseff Dib, Courtney Kost, Kristina Lenewski, Natasha Lenart, Tiffany Skelnik, and Sarah Szieszol, also did a fantastic job, ending the initial rounds with a 3 win, 1 loss record. Courtney Kost also received a trophy for the highest individual score for our Varsity Team. After winning the semi-final round, our Varsity Team went on to win the final round which resulted in a FIRST PLACE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP for our Varsity Team!
