New Starting and Dismissal Times at River Grove School

Beginning this year, students at River Grove School will be expected to be ready to enter the building by 8:25 a.m. This is approximately ten minutes earlier than last year's starting time. The dismissal bell at the end of the day will ring at 3:22 p.m. This is also about ten minutes later than last year.
The reason for making the day longer was to create a shortened class period to address specific areas of learning with all students. During this period of time, junior high students will either receive additional help with their Reading or Math, learn study test preparation skills, receive academically talented services (should they qualify), or specific technology training using the computer lab.
Students in grades Kindergarten through 5 will use this time to be exposed to either new learning methods in the area of Reading or Math or curriculum enrichment activities.
