Principal's Message

  • Dear RGS Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the next Principal of River Grove School. From the very first moment I stepped into RGS, I could feel the positive hum of energy resonate through the hallways. I am honored and thrilled to join the Royals Family and for the opportunity to lead a school with such hard-working students, talented staff and a supportive parent and school community.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty years, and I have worked with students ranging in age from Pre-K through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a Pre-K teacher, a self-contained elementary classroom teacher, an EL teacher, and have taught all core subject areas at the middle school level. I have served as a district administrator and most recently as a 6-8 instructional coach. I am dedicated to life-long learning and I look forward to learning from and alongside the wonderful educators at River Grove School.

On a more personal note, my husband and I live in Niles and have three adult children. In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking, and spending time with my family. Although we don’t travel often, we do like to visit new places. I especially enjoy visiting capital cities and MLB ballparks. Additionally, I am working on a personal goal to improve my skills and endurance as a runner, and I am currently training to run the Chicago Marathon this fall.

I have had the pleasure of meeting many RGS teachers and staff during my transition, and I look forward to getting to know all of our students and families when school begins in August. I wish you an enjoyable, relaxing summer spent with family and friends. I cannot wait to meet you all soon!

    All my best,

    Christine Trujillo
